My background in photography
I am a lifelong photographer and have been in business providing custom photography for more than 35 years in the Madison, WI area. My specialties have been location work with an emphasis on architecture interiors, exteriors, location commercial/industrial, aerials and regional stock photography. My photography has appeared in hundreds of company brochures, advertisements & websites.
I have been involved in photography since I was a boy. Out on the farm, while in grade school, along with my mother and younger brother, I started out with a home darkroom (one that my grandfather built at the end of a long hallway) learning to shoot, process film and make prints. I did local newspaper & school photography, followed by various jobs at portrait studios, lots of darkroom work later on including several full time photography jobs at the University of Wisconsin. I have a degree in Art from the University of Wisconsin in Madison where I broadened my aesthetic experiences while working my way through school doing freelance photography work. I went totally dependent on my own photography business in 1976 photographing rock and roll bands, weddings, location commercial & industrial and architecture. In 1987 I opened a 2500 sq. ft studio in Middleton WI where I did a combination of photography including studio catalogues and brochure work plus various location jobs. I have moved away from the confines of a studio and the typical photo work I have done for years and am doing photos of things that interest me (let's discuss your project), mostly related to design oriented images of all kinds and those related to my special interest in aviation. Look for my art shows and displays in the area, my Facebook page and web site.
